MotoGP 2023: Safety cars and bikes arrive for Grand Prix of India

Greater Noida (UP), September 16 With just about a week left for the country’s first MotoGP race, safety cars, and bikes, which can be deployed if needed during the Grand Prix of India, were deployed at Buddh International on Saturday. Reached the circuit.
The Grand Prix of India, the biggest motorcycle race to be held in the country, will be from 22 to 24 September.

Organizers said on Saturday that the security car and bikes landed in New Delhi via air cargo and were rushed to the venue early in the day.

Three safety cars including the BMW M5CS will be at the venue during the race. Its presence is essential to ensure prompt medical assistance in the event of an incident on the opening lap. Additionally, a safety car is sent to assess track conditions when needed.

The remaining safety cars – the BMW M2 (G87), and the BMW M3 Touring – will take to the venue on Sunday.

The safety bike – the BMW M 1000 RR – will also be used at the Buddh International Circuit during the race weekend.

The safety car is positioned at the back of the grid at the start of the race. During the first lap of the race, it passes the riders before retreating into the pit lane.

Organized by FairStreet Sports in association with Dorna Sports, the Indian Oil Grand Prix of India promises to be an exciting spectacle, with 41 teams and 82 riders competing across the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 categories, including Francesco Bagnaia, Marc Marquez, Marco, Famous names like Bezzecchi, Brad Binder, Jack Miller and George Martin will be included.
